The World Seafood Congress (WSC) is approaching fast as 10th of September is practically just around the corner. This time, more women are engaged in the WSC than ever before. The organizing committee for the congress made a commitment to gender equality in terms of attendance and in the speaker line-up. Of the 113 speakers, 43 are women – a much higher percentage than in other seafood related events. Furthermore, the conference includes a dedicated session to women in seafood, a first at a fisheries conference to the best of our knowledge.
